This version of Jelly Roll Morton's "London Blues" was recorded at The Harp Hotel, Albrighton, Shropshire, England on Sunday, December 2nd. 2007 by the Frog Island Jazz Band and was based on the King Oliver recording. This was a session which gave us the Frog Island version of the music of Jelly Roll Morton, King Oliver, The New Orleans Wanderers and others of the same era. The members of the band are John Whitehead on trumpet, Jim Hurd on clarinet, John Jeanes on trombone, Rob Fullalove on tuba , Keith Durston on piano, Owen Diplock on banjo and Chris Marchant on drums. The bands versions of "Doctor Jazz", "Harmony Blues" and "Chicago Buzz" from the same session are also on YouTube. Sessions at the Harp are held every Sunday lunchtime and Tuesday evening.
