It's okay. And no 10 megatons is very large! Theoretically a 1 megaton airburst at about 3000 feet could turn downtown New York city into an ashtray and still have the power to heavily damage structures outside of that range! 10 megatons could simply turn an area like that into a glass covered desert. 57 megatons is just crazy, like I said 1 megaton is enough. 500 Megatons would devastate the entire new York state and nearby others! But would not end us humans permantly. The planet is huge!

I read the news article on Sydney Morning Herald and apparently the destructive force of Apophis is equivalent to 500 megatonnes of TNT....... now compare that to the Soviet Tsar Bomba (a crazy big hydrogen bomb) that has the destructive force equivalent to 57 megatonnes of TNT....... holy shiiittttt

(not to sound noobish) is 10 megaton fairly small? the russians made a nuclear bomb 50 megatons, and a capacity of 100 megatons

apophis will take out something the size of louisiana. crazy fucking shit guys. whats crazier is the disaster zone will and i repeat WILL not be evacuated entirely and there will be deaths. but than again the chance of hitting the keyhole and even then the chance of impact on 2036 is slim. but nasa will not know where this thing will hit when it does. and it will not be pretty. save money for plane tickets before this. remember those who can pay the most get evacuated first. its sad but true
