As for the racists and the Aussie pride crap. Our grandparents fought in the second world war against national socialsim and imperialism. The Nazis and the Japanese government. They fought for freedom, for a fair go and Australia. Your racism endorses the views of Nazis and Imperial Japan. So pull your head in and do something constructive for Australia like pick up all the empty woodstock cans and beer bottles louts throw around the place.

Love the shot of the kid swinging on the Hills Hoist! If you haven't done that you're not and Aussie. Mine back home is bent as from the kids swinging on it! The Character is still there, you just have to look outside the big, self important cities like Sydney etc to find it. Come up to Darwin, North QLD, North NSW and you'll see it's alive and well.

An Aussie told me about this. I can't understand everything Williamson is saying, but I get the heart of it enough to have tears in my eyes and be all welled up with tears after I finished listening to it. I suppose it's the fear that character has become "so yesterday". But, really, good character is always with us, it just only reveals itself when needed.

@randalon Try AC/DC(you might have heard of them?), INXS, Icehouse(Great Southern Land), Men at Work(Land Down Under), Wolfmother, Living End, John Williamson, James Blundell. Kevin Bloody Wilson's always good for a laugh. Another good one is Peter Allen - I still call Australia home, but don't listen to the QANTAS version, find a Peter Allen original. Hell just Google Australian artists.
