Ah, we use much more energy at school dances. And the arm hold we use is a lot different, with dancers linking the whole arm with one another.

Well if people learnt it this way they could cope with any other version. I was at a wedding dance the night before last and we had a gallop and crash mixed standard and orcadian version - what a laugh...!

I'm sorry but being raised n an island off the west coast of Scotland this is no the way we did strip the Willow !! This is wrong and far too clinical for a proper dance!!

would this person please post other videos? This was different than remembered but seems like maybe I forgot. Please post more dances with good explanations and views! Others are hard to decipher and see. Good job!

Odd ? Like the commentary says, danced with 4 beats per swing (turn) as here, it takes 40 bars; 8 beats (the way I learned in Perthshire) and it's 56 bars altogether.
