As if there is a video on waterproof rice.. in my biology class I just did a giant project on waterproof rice. Sub-1A gene! weew.. aha I am a nerd yea, i know.

Even if rice grows on flooded soils it is sensitive to complete submergence. Only some varieties can survive this stress-condition using different strategies (avoidance or the metabolic quiescence shown here).

I don´t get it. Is this dry land rice? Otherwise why sould flooding be a problem?
