I don't agree with him when he asks what the meaning of life is and then answers that it's spiritual enrichment. No one can answer that question. It's something that probably should never be asked. I don't believe there's any real purpose to life. Just experience. Whether you choose to enjoy that experience or repel from it is your own decision.

he did say *maybe* we are here to enhance ourselves spiritually. but I agree that there is no real purpose to life, only what you define it as.

a bit of an absolute statement there isn't it RThornhill? I mean to say that there is no purpose to life and that existence limits one to two choices, enjoy or not enjoy. What about people who are born into intense suffering and really don't have that choice? Sounds to me like you're speaking from a position of middle class comfort. Like flaminia5 says , perhaps the answer to the question depends on one's position in life. Perspective is everything.

... 'It is not a point that one can argue; but it is like the utterance of a man born blind who is being told about a rainbow. He simply remains deaf to the pain undergone by the artist in order to share with others the truth he has reached.'
from "Sculpting in Time" by Andrei Tarkovsky
