A PS3 only has 256 XDR DRAM, which is pretty fast, but other than that you cannot get far with just that much... also do you really think the Cell Prozessor would've come to life with just Toshiba and Sony? No chance whatsoever! If it weren't for IBM there wouldn't be such a thing residing in any PS3.
