The Irish are the Kiwis of the north! lol......does that make the Kiwi's the Irish of the south?? ;) I think thats a really cool way of looking at our two countries! Cant wait to see NZ in 2010.
My only point was being careful using that in the USA amongst mixed (i.e. non-rugby) company. Then again, might be fun to see non-rugby folks' reactions to it.
yeah, there have been incidents like that already...a friend of mine was barred entry from a club by the african-american bouncer in Vegas. He was wearing an All Blacks top which the bouncer took offence at (the wearer is most definitely white). The bouncer couldn't accept that there would be a team in the world called the 'All Blacks' that could be filled with players who aren't black. Pointing out that the team name has been around for a century didn't seem to make much difference.
There is a clothing brand in Argentina called "John L. Cook", which used the Confederate flag as its logo. The folks that started the line must havethought it only meant "Rebel".
I had some cousins come over to the USA (to the East Coast), and I had to not bother bringing any of those clothes with them, unless they wanted to get their tails kicked when they went into the big cities.
Funny that in ARG they had no clue what it really meant.

The North of Ireland is not and never has been "part of Britain". Learn some geography and political history.
UK yes, Britain no. Big difference.
Good at least that's sorted.
