Thanks Duncanzibar for posting this. But whatever happened to the BBC 'Rock and roll years' series which used to be on Youtube? What a fantastic series!If only someone could put it back on again!!!!!!!!!!!

If you like this, get the African Jazz Pioneers CD(s) and the indestructible sound of Soweto. I grew up in Africa, and one thing that was a constant souce of amazment was the the music was so upbeat, when in fact they had not much to be "up" about.

Apartheid was ("is") een regelrechte SCHANDE ! In de USA kwam het, zoals iedereen wel weet, net zo goed voor. Het zou mij niets verbazen als de USA de "apartheid-regimes" dik van geld heeft voorzien.
Een "leuke bijkomstigheid" van al die onderdrukking is het ontstaan van geweldige muziek (als uitlaatklep ?).
