I totally agree with you on the language learning basics : it's unbelievable to see that people who have been learning English for 7 years cannot understand simple daily statements.. Anyway , very interesting video. It's nice to share some experience !
Noone around me prefers perfect tools to make their life easier life and while accomplishing more advanced things. They like to waste their time and energy for producing garbage. People aspire to waste their time and kill the nature because, in the crazy capitalist world, they are narrow-minded to have job. Without doing useless things, they tell, we would live in the caves -- nobody would do anything. The complex english grammar creates jobs. Translation creates jobs. This world is impaired.
I assume that your statement is based from theory and not from practice or actual experience. I already talked with a Russian Esperantists [by voice chat], and there was no problem at all communicating with him. He had no problem understanding me, and the same with me.
Sometimes, being empirical is better than being rationalistic.
One Russian out of 142 millions. Those guy are the world's best chessplayers, some of them will even master a difficult language like Esperanto. Why does the language not get off the ground? Why do your own people complain about the "eternal beginners"? Why does wikipedia claim (unchallenged) that only 0.1% of all learners achieve fluency? Kaj jes mi lernis Esperanton ;-) and it was not a pleasant experience...
