The Children's Railway in Poole Park

This minature railway has existed for 40 years that I know of & still operates. This is a video of it now, with then & now fotos at either end.

It is a DVD of various miniature railways & the Poole bit is only about a minute long.

I found a DVD that shows the railway in 1963 in colour & says the steam engine was called "Vanguard" & was green.
Apart from the steam engine & the fashions, the railway & the park has remained fairly unchanged for 40 years.

I am now fairly certain that the engine was sadly scrapped, along with others of the Southern Minature Railway.
But if anyone knows different.....

Yes we used to go there alot in the late 60's and 70's,the steam engine is a very early memory for me,it was followed by a blue "diesel"I think with a ford anglia or cortina engine and yellow chevrons on both ends..
