Not just an important film but something that may be essential for human survival. Capitalism = Fascism

No, capitalism unfettered, like anything unfettered, = fascism. Do a keyword search on youtube for "thug". You'll see ugliness that will make you lose your appetite forever. You ppl. who obsess over the pennies being counted by Mobile Corp.s accountants are just a-holes. You're just avoiding dealing with real problems. It's easy to sit at home and sound off about evil corporations. But attack the inner city and everyone thinks your mean to poor people. Don't wanna be unpopular, now do ya.

THank you for adding. People here like rock808 and blaynestaley are obviously not too well informed. (People in the U.S. can NOT ask or aspire to better money w/in a corp. if they go far away & pay worker$ for so little. "take thi$ or nothing!" (correct- it's called slaves) does not make the world better- makes it much worse Einstein!

That's not the way it works. The countries in which these people are being exploited have little to no labor laws. The only choice usually in these countries is to work for almost nothing or not work at all and die. Nike, for example, charges $100 for a pair of shoes. And how much did it cost them to make it? 50c, $1, $5? That's a huge profit margin. Regardless of this the one thing that you should ask yourself is: Would you want to make shoes in Africa or wherever for 10c an hour?

"Consumers" are swayed by advertisements and the incentive of function, this means that the product is "functional", and claim to provide something that we all "need" as opposed to what. And this is done in various provocative ways (see, "sex sells"). Good documentary, by the way.

People work at such low rates out of desperation - so that they can have the money to buy the products of the corporations who fuck them over in the first placer - ironic huh?. Corporations LOVE desperate people and would do everything in their power to make poeple more desperate because these are how they got so large in the first place, by exploiting them.

"If people in poor countries are happy/willing to work for $1/hr, that might be better than not working at all. IF YOU (a consumer) is willing to pay $100 for a pair of Nike shoes, that's your fault, not the company."

Just because you *CAN* do something makes it right? It makes me sad people are so selfish about human life. What sort of person exploits workers because they can?
