steviewasp, stop acting like a know it all. all your doing is proving that your not only an arrogant fool, but you also have no consideration for others. maybe this just makes him want to move to ireland...SO GET OVER YOURSELF!
What a total cock hellsxrebellion has made of himself. This is famously a traditional English ballad song that is thought to date back to 1670 or further. England and Scotland have as much, if not more, of a history of traditional folksongs as Ireland. It pays to do a little research before blowing your mouth off.
This piece of music is in the Northern English/Lowland Scots style traditionally, however this version is more "Celtic" than usual.
Many English folksongs are mistaken for Irish ones, such as 'Rose of Allendale', 'All Around My Hat' and 'Gypsy Laddie' due to them being popular in Ireland.
Though many folk think that 'She Moved Through The Fair' is English but it is actually Irish so it can work both ways.
hellsxrebellion, my Great Grandpa too came from Ireland, and I have visited Dublin many times. I have seen the pockmarked walls of the Post Office in O'Connell Street, have tasted "Liffey Water" (Guinness) with oysters at "Rosy O'grady's, have stayed at the "Gresham Hotel" and have touched the statue of "The Tart With The Cart", (Molly Malone) and much more. If you never do anything else in this life, you must go there. I suspect that if you do, like me, you will never be the same again.
