The saiga antelope - one of the world's most endangered animals - is on the verge of extinction. With their horns sought as ingredients in Chinese traditional medicine, male antelopes are a target of poachers.

    The Kalmyks who live in Southern Russia are actually descendants of nomadic Mongolian tribes who travelled across to Russia around 400 years ago. Kalmykia is therefore the only officially Buddhist state in Europe!

    Yet another precious animal being slaughtered for a stupid reason! It really makes me angry and sad that ignorant humans are so quick to think some Rhino horn or antelope horn is going to cure their ills! I think it is all in their minds!
