Ross is brilliant, because I'd say around 99% of his show is improvised, and full of audience participation gags. He can pick anyone from the audience and have a hundred jokes about them in less than a minute. That's comedic genius. Sure, sometimes he has stories that he plans to tell, but if you watch his other shows, he'll start telling the story, get sidetracked by amazing improv for a half hour, keeps the audience in fits of laughter, then goes back to the story. Brilliant.
