"We deal with rockets and dreams but can't deal with reality"......Mayfield was a prophet. Sadly, nothing's changed, we still deal with rockets and (false) dreams but can't deal with reality.

There isn't another song that typified this time period more than "Freddie's Dead".
Very profound and heart-felt.
Curtis was/is the man!

DiscoLarry...What up "PEA!!!" Yeah, I'm from 144th & 7th (NOT Adam Clayton Powell, Jr. Blvd.).
My good friend growing up in the 70's lived on Convent. His cousin is the pimp in the Superfly movie. He was a real pimp. They needed a car for this movie, so he agreed to let them use his "pimpmobile" (real drug dealers back then didn't drive those type cars) if they gave him a part in the Superfly movie.
I'm out, but my sister is still there. Peace God! (5 %)

I feel ya...when electric basses improved sonically it was too easy for guys to dial in a lot of high end, ostensibly to cut through the mix. But it dilutes the power of the bass. I like to add just a tiny bit of high end for clarity, but really boost the low end around 60hz....I use an Ampeg SVTII head and an ancient svt cabinet, and it as warm as butter on pancakes.
