I am indebted to the Archivist of the Ballet Ramert for her identification of this production of The Sleeping Princess, with sets designed by Nadia Benois. Featured here is three glimpses of the Prologue with June Brae as the Lilac Fairy and her 4 fairy attendants, a glimpse of Carabosse's mime with King Florestan 14th and his Queen. It then moves to Act 1 with Margot Fonteyn as Aurora and the four princes -- suitors for her hand.

Interesting to see how relatively undeveloped her technique seems at this early stage in her career. Still, there is a liveliness and freshness even in the tiny studio.
