I think each version is good. It speaks of something we all can relate to; heartache, & losing someone youj didn't want to losein your life. In that sense, it brings us all together a bit more in conciousness because we've all been there at least once.

the writer (Neil) doesn't mind getting royalties from other versions...but man, the writer almost always interprets his own feelings to the max. This is not the exception.
