There was a cartoon in the Irish Times back in the 1990s - in the middle of one of the Drumcree crises: "Next six one news with more from the failed sectarian statelet of the North, but first the Angelus" - says it all

I just accidentally watched this with the sound off, and I cannot believe how creepy it is.

To be fair, it's pretty creepy with the sound on though...

Imagine we pay for this insult. I find this moranic BONNGGGGing offensive. Fine a minute of so called reflection, then just use a blank audioless screen. If this is allowed then the Muslim prayers sould also be on air.

Maybe a minuute of Science would serve Humanity better than a minute of mystic angels. Get this cr*p off our TV, but then again I rarly watch Religious Television Eire.

How about a minute of anger with Cowen & Mary Harney.
