just our of curiousity, what was it you didn't agree with? I won't be offended and I'm not trying to start an arguement, I'm just interested in hearing your opinions.

Peace to you too...whilst not agreeing with you I do understand your reasons, and the detrimental effect introduced wildlife has on indigenous species.

Starlings are not my favourite bird but they are quite clever and do have character! This video is phenomenal though, I think its amazing.


Check out our red squirrels you will love them....my wife and I have adopted one!

I live in an area where we have large flocks of starlings like the one in this video and they take our native woodpecker and scrub jay nests as well as pass disease.

I thank you for your courtesy as well... I tried to talk with "eyesopenedwide00" and was told to jump off a bridge (which is a bit dramatic considering we were talking about starlings not religion)... should I expect my box o' squirrels soon? lol

We are blessed to live on an island that is 'Grey-free' as the Greys spread disease which kill the Reds.

Bit off the point from starlings I know but Wouldn't it be great if we could do this deal for real! LoL

Although we have different views I thank you for your courtesy...it seems people delight in being rude to each other on Net.

@ wightnproud: you have a deal! the squirrels do less damage here than the starlings do.... I'll ship you a box of birds if you ship me a box of squirrels...the starlings aren't so humble here (they must have adopted the "if-you-need-it-take-it-from-o thers" attitiude most Americans have) so feel free to take them.... it's better than watching them get killed! they are lovely...in a destructed kind of way.

...the fact remains, these birds are destroying the natural habitat of native birds which will eventually cause damage to the surrounding ecosystems. It's the same thing that happens when you introduce asian carp to lakes in the US. They kill the native animals and destroy the ecosystem. The birds wouldn't have to be killed if man hadn't brought them here in the first place, so your attitude, language choice and arguments show your lack of knowledge on the subject.

Nature didn't intent for the starlings to be in the US. They were brought here and used as props in plays in the New England area. They do cause a lot of damage to native birds in the US and even though you have a point about humans being the biggest pests in the world, you have to understand the the starlings introduction in the US is, in some areas, destroying the last remaining natural habitats for native birds that are left. While I disagree with the killing of these birds in mass numbers..

It's not a group mind. It's individual birds following local rules about flight. It's evolution, not an unintelligent designer.
