Torture is not what we have ever done, torture and water boarding are okay, not too much fun to go through, but how bout this thought, lets just kill em, put them out of their misery and get our guys back. WHAT ARE MILITARY VETS OR IN ACTION GO THROUGH EVERYDAY WITH THIS ENEMY IS TORTURE. How would you like to be there watching to witness peoples fingers getting cut off, for just trying to stand up and vote. Watching that everyday, or things like it. THAT IN MY WORLD IS TORTURE.

Those who "deemed" that it's not torture based their (secret) edict on an UNSOUND premise. The question is, did they do that on purpose & did they try to destroy dissenting legal opinions It was illegal according to the US when the Khmer Rouge waterboarded (same technique-so nobody try to finesse Cheney's BS with yet more BS qualifiers), illegal when the Japanese did it in WWII, illegal when any totalitarian regime does it. & as FBI Agent Soufan said, "it plays into the hands of the terrorists"

One lawyer writing a memo saying waterboarding is not torture does not change the law. You forget that it takes congress. Otherwise we could get all kinds of laws changed whenever they were inconvenient.
