This is a portion of a discussion concerning how great the Moog Minimoog is. Basically a very small demonstration of a fraction of the sounds and capabilities of the Moog Minimoog... perhaps the most beautiful, beautiful sounding, and functional synthesizer ever produced. Thanks for the quick answer! Great! I'll have a go at some point with the filter and osc calibration routines stated in the manual... they don't seem too difficult... esp as you don't need to open the synth up.
About the key contacts... yeah I'm afraid to get in there too!!
I just picked up a 1972 mini and it has a few issues I'd like to know more about. If you have any advice its appreciated!
First off... the filter knob on mine seems to be fully open at around +2. Is this normal?
The keyboard feels great but sometimes the pitch jumps about for no apparent reason. Seems to happen around the mid C.. sometimes it falls a semitone or jumps around to another octave for no reason...
The Synclavier was one of the first digital synths, along with the Fairlight CMI. Not only could they sample sound and do really complex synthesis, they were their own recording studios, all in one system.
a mellotron is a sorta polyphonic synth which works by when u play a note a tape plays it has a tape for each note but the problems with it r that if its hot its tuning changes and if its cold. i dont knw alot about the synclav but i think its a synthesizer clavinet
If I'm planning to buy the new minimoog model D, they called it the old school replica version, do you think it would sound as good, exactly as this ?

No, it sounds like your filter knob needs calibration, but that's not a big deal!
There is a reason! Your key contacts need cleaning! Mine does the same thing! Also not a big deal... I'm just afraid to take mine apart.. ha ha ha
Great videos as usual!!
