It's always the English or American bands that go over to eat the dirt and lick the sky who get it right. It all began with Beatles, Stones, Zep and Squeez, XTC, and others kept it going. If Russell Edson sang this is what he'd sound like.
Greatest British band of the eighties and should be considered right up there with the Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Kinks, The Who, Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd. They never put out a bad album and put out more than their fare share of brilliant ones.
@Darrylizer1 Agreed! XTC were absolutely brilliant. I remember as a 16 year old they played Nottingham University, and I could hear it as my parents house backed onto it, thinking "this is bloody brilliant!"
