Good honest comment. Except that I'm at a loss to understand why the fact you personally don't get it leads you to assume that neither the audience not the performer sees its value either. When the fact that she devotes herself to her art and they choose to go to see her might suggest otherwise?
Personally, when I find a new music or soundform I "don't get", I see this as an unrealised potential. I try to undo myself a bit, until I CAN get it.
I respect that some people like it. I like a lot of strange music, but I will not go as far as saying this is music. Its noises. I prefer melodies that express something, not denying that people can find expressing in this, though. It just doesnt appeal to me.
I usually find it hard not turning mad after reading comments like yours, UmaFan95. I'm getting older and more calm nowadays, though. Still, I really can't get it why people feel so provoced by people performing things you "don't understand". Isn't it wonderful, life has so many things we don't understand? Why is it you kind of people don't get as much provoced by space scientist, or so? Let artists do things not maybe even they themselves understand, because usually exploring is their mission.
Well, I am sorry I offended you. It was not my intention. I speicifically wanted some replies to my comments, maybe even constructive ones, as yours. I dont get the 'music', thats all there is to it. When it comes to the artist thing; I am myself an artist and I know that people dont always understand. But that is also a great aspect of the art. That it actually does never appeal to everyone. It is neither supposed to. Thank you for your reply, and sorry if I did offend you with my ignorance.
It's allright, I didn't mean to get it all out on you. And hey, it's up to everyone to decide what's music, for THEM. But it's when I feel someone tries to tell others what is music and not, I get upset. A drizzling creek or birdsong in the forest is, for me, as much of a musical thing as a spanish guitar or a rock band. It's about sonical experiences that in some way connects to tour heart and brain and experiences in life. That is, not necessarily sound with a beat or a rythm. Cheers!

Maybe give that a go?
