"When Worlds Collide" Trailer

So this movie was the inspiration of the niburu bullshit.

Its a great movie, very ahead of its time in effects but the highly fascist script was surely an oversight. No Blacks, Asians, Hispanics, Polynesians, Haitians or other worldly peoples. Just whitey.
Maybe the host natives on the new planet are all black cannibals that eat them all up. I hope they did. Ha ha!!

@rushkagon Are you serious? Check out almost any movie from the same time period. You have to look long and hard to find any person of color represented.

I dont think it was George Pal's or Rudolph Mates' intention to promote a fascist agenda, it was an oversight in all fairness.

Still a great movie as most 50's & 60's sci -fi is actually watchable unlike the totally soulless overproduced rubbish of today!

very good disaster film. it's funny that even in the 50's, there were scenes in these movies of a huge tidal wave hitting new york city haha.

when I went to see 2012 I thought it looked familar! I had seen this years ago.

There's a pretty amusing novel by Anthony Burgess called "End of the News of the World" alternating an ironic remake of When Worlds Collide, a biopic of Freud and a musical on Trotsky - quite a wacky mix. I didn't know much about this film back then, so I was surprised when I watched the film and discovered that wasn't original stuff.
