The instrumental of this was used as the theme/backing music to the Billboard American Hot 100 show with Mike Baker on Beacon Radio in Wolverhampton (UK) in the late 1970s.
I always wondered what this music was, now I know.
Yeah, Neils guitar is often off or turned very quiet in the mix. This is probably done because although Neil is a consumate performer and legend of a songwriter, he often plays the wrong chords.
Ha Ha. You might be right! Neil is as you say a superb peformer and one of the greatest songwriter's ever but not a great guitarist. Although 'The Basher' as he known for his guitar playing style has an interesting guitar style very well suited to up tempo three chord songs. Diamond was a top fencer in his youth and you can sometimes see fencing moves in his guitar style. It was a pity he reduced his guitar playing through the late 80s and 90s but glad to see he is back playing it live.
There is some merit in what you say but Neil was having sound problems with his guitar throughout this show. At the beginning of Cherry Cherry during this Glastonbury set his guitar was completely off-mike.
Go Neil.....love the brass section! Come back to Australia soon!....and thankyou to the person who posted this......does anyone know if this is a DVD release or TV only.....please advise!!!!!! Go Neil Go.....always the consumate performer!!!!
