bell hooks Pt 6 cultural criticism (spike lee)

I love her comments and thoughts and I really get so much out of her books because she is saying what I have felt and thought in my life. It saddens me that people can't move past their own biases to really listen to the struggle and engage in it with others...instead they choose to reduce themselves to making petty comments in lieu of critical thinking. i read an article in Critical Asian Studies regarding the ideologies behind 'Asian' films released in North America and Asian 'domestic' films. There are plenty of studies critically examining the effects of globalization and film-making.
