History. Islam has a start date that is much younger than the other, related faiths and much younger than Africa itself, so what were our ancestors doing the 6 million years before its inception? If they were heathens without morals, their greatness wouldn't be loved and hated at the same time.

I do not understand your comment. I am talking about Christianity being a genuine faith for African peoples and not forced. I don't understand what you are saying and how it is relevant.

Then you will have to define "genuine" as it relates to the people. How genuine is it when you know how it got into Africa in the first place? It's only genuine to those that created it. It's like saying Taco Bell and Olive Garden are genuine versions of Mexican and Italian foods, when they are really bad, mass-produced knock-offs. Christianity is a knock off of the "heathen" beleifs they sought to "save from their own babarianism".

Very true. Now I understand you. Fair point. But surely, to define modern African Christianity by its original intention is like defining modern Christianity by any other period in its history, where it may have been used and abused, or in your own analogy to judge Italian and Mexican foods sold in the West in 50 years time based on the really bad knock-off today, even if they're a lot more "genuine" versions of their original culture in the future. God is doing AMAZING things in Africa today.

It's original intention was to convert heathens by any means necessary and when the crusades occurred, they needed "troops" to help them fight for land that didn't involve Africa. The way you can really judge it is to see if there was an improvement to those it was introduced to. I argue that it destroyed more than improved. Africa and the rest of the world was doing fine without foreign/european beleifs. Is "god" making the enemies of Africa leave so they can handle their own business? nope.

You talk as though God were a culture. God is a person. The way God shows himself to us is not just through the movement of nations on a grand scale (though he does) but on an individual and community level. Praise God for the millions of Africa with personal relationships with the living God - creator of all - seated on the throne, with beasts surrounding him not even able to look at him because of his glorious majestic greatness. Don't talk of God like He is a puppet of politicians. He is not.
