This is amazing.! I've loved this tune for years now, and I'm an American. I've never seen the Proms before. Wow! Thanks for sharing!

I just posted an arrangement I made of this piece for soprano and full orchestra. Please have a listen sometime. I hope you enjoy it.

I am proud to be English, and it is very good you are too, it is just important thay we realise what it is to be English and not just assume we have had a history of numerous victories and greatness, when we have also lost battles and committed atrocities. My original response was in reply to someone further down on the comments, who I mainly disagreed with.

@EmperorHarold I know that idiot I was just refering to another war with had with the French that we won!!! Still you sound much more educated than me and Obviously have lots of time on your hands to research all this crap. I'll live in the present and be proud to be English you go back to your books.

I think you're confused, Napoleon had no involvment in the 100 years war, the 100 years war ended in the 15th century, Napoleon started in the very late 18th century, you fool. The influences are from being invaded whether it is by the Romans, Saxons, Normans etc. My point was that we were influenced by France just as much as by Germany. We did loose the 100 years war, all we had left was Calais, before we owned more of France than the French did.

@EmperorHarold what the hell are you talking about? We did not lose the 100 year war as we did not lose to Napoleon and yes of course the language has origans from many other countries, we were invaded many times but ultimately we prevailed and thrived and although we may not have the power we once have we have every reason to be bloody proud to be ENGLISH

Well, actually we lost the 100 years war, and France helped the US defeat us in the Wars of independence. Our language has many ties, the fact that we use colour as opposed to color has French origins, as opposed to Latin ones. The Normans orginally came from the North, but ultimately they became French, they saw England as a means for taxation, not as their homeland. It was only really under Edward I that England became the focal point, and even that is debatable.

Britain loves america, nobody actually insulted them until you came, you started insulting us and giving us a bad idea about americans, when i've met american who are lovely and funny and friendly, you're letting your country down, why do you just like Britain?
If you lived on British soil you'd realise we love the americans, but you can't seen to understand that..

I saw you said it's hard to take our society seriously because our police don't carry guns.
Are you actually serious?
we base our society on trust and peace and you base your society of oppression and tyranny it would seem, But i have high hopes for Obama to turn it around for you...
