Hmmm, well theres people with powers, Contractors they call em, loose all there Human irrationality and basically become cold blooded killers with only there own interest in mind. Contractors are implemented by secret organizations and factions as assassins and the like. Through in conspiracy's, plots, betrayal
and all that jazz and you got Darker Than Black.

Batman with magic powers, pretty much.

Still, it's worth watching if you enjoy good action and episodic animes (I think it's very similar to Cowboy Bebop in that way). The music is also composed by Yoko Kanno.
