Having had plenty to do with both Americans and the English, I must say Americans are very poor Humans in comparison to the English, and the Idea of an American being Humble and considerate....well now we know you have no idea.

iroscoe mentioned that Nixon got the Silver Star. You will have to ask him. I do know that Nixon volunteered for duty, even though he was entitled to be exempted. After many years service in WW2, this brave man with many military citations and awards was promoted to a very high rank in the USN.
