mozart is great...but i fail to understand how people listen to opera?!

Thje same way as they watch movies now.

Don't mean to disrespect Mozart or classical music...but i guess i cant listen to opera, the same way most people cant listen to the metal vocalist's growls...but no doubt, i love the instrumental parts.

Vienna 1791? That's the year Mozart died. This documentary goes back and forth in time.

Perhaps opera's are more daunting than symphonies etc sometimes. Perhaps its rather telling that a genius like Beethoven only managed one. :-)
It depends though. Some symphonies are quite epic and some operas are relatively simple; but still, there are more elements to bring together. Must be hard.
