Yo retard, football players were shoulder pads to hit harder, all of your lower body including your whole stomach and part of your ribs are exposed. and they wear helmets so that if they get tackled a certain way, they just roll over rather than break your neck. I am a football player, and I've played rugby to. It dosen't matter which sport is tougher, but football is a lot more fun.

I play american football, and live in Norway, yeah thats in Europe if ur wondering ;) but of course its not as popular as in the states, but i love the game and i cant picture a life without football.. also, soccer is for wimps.. and the amunt of force duing a rugby game and a football game is approximately the same, watch sports science "football vs rugby"

You're obviously not an athlete, or are an American. This has been beaten into the floor. Rugby is way more dangerous than Football end of story. You can say all you want. I would love to see you go shoulder to shoulder with no pads or helmet with a 250lb man.

Theres a reason football players wear pads people. They hit with a hell of a lot more force than rugby players do. Also, when somebody gets hit hard, they want to be able to play the sport because they love playing. How can you keep playing If youve been paralyzed due to lack of safety.

that wasn't my point. My point was that there's a reason we use padding and helmets, without them there would be many more life threating injuries particularly to the neck.
