True scientists say, "We are aware that our theories are not perfect, just the best fit." No claims to absolute truth are believed because none are made. There is a recognition of what we are all forced to work with. And there is a recognition that science works.
This video challenges the claim that a belief in science requires equal faith to the belief in a god.

haven't truly helped us as a spiecies, look at the enviorment today, if you denie we are facing serious probles right now then, that would contradict your belief in science because the vast majority of scientist agree that global warming is happening (not to mention all the other enviormental problems on eather. so why should we continue to chase somthing we'll never catch (understanding of reality) it would not be as useful to us, as understanding our survival, so if im gonna chose a way...
it's this metaphore "like if a tree falls in the middle of a forest with no one there to hear it, dose it make a sound?" i would say no one know for sure because for the most part no madder how much we think we know, it's really just a drop in the bucket. everyone has their own perseption of reality, now anyone can say they know whats real, but they would just the same a millions of people who claim the same thing, regardless of what they have on paper because all the discoveries in science....
no, i'm not. i am simply asking religious people do what everyone else in this world has ever done with a viable claim. prove it. if i walk into a lab and say 'hey guys, i found a unicorn!', which would you consider the correct response? a) 'oh cool, can you prove it to us?' or b) 'oh, well we can't prove you didn't find one, so i guess you did!'. i'll give you a hint, it's a. we only take things seriously if they can be proven true. can you do this?
proof is irrelivant when it comes to faith but atheism is just the same as christianity in the sense the atheist try to ridicule others beliefs just a chistains and im just sick of every one saying "I'm the only one who's right because.." why can't people let others believe what they want? why do they post videos like this trying to bash other people's belisfs?
how is it irrelevant? you are telling me that millions of people just believe in something because a book told them to? they can't use their own brains for a half a second to say 'hey, maybe this makes no sense.'? they just dive in and devote their lives to something that has no proof of existence? i'm sorry, i just honestly do not understand this mental phenomenon. people's beliefs in mythology are dangerous and irrational and will only continue to rise the religion-inspired death toll.
before all the main stream religions people still believed in things they couldn't prove exept they didn't go around trying to impose their beliefs on other people and they lived fine like that for thousands of years now everyone thinks their way is the only way and don't even realize everyone else is thinking the exact same thing. and proof is oviously irrelivant when it comes to faith thats why the vast majority of people believe in one thing or another which is not proven.

Do you agree that there is one single objective reality, that we all exist in a world which has truths unaffected by our existence? For instance, do you agree that even if there were no people then it would still be the case that the solar system is heliocentric? If you agree then it necessarily follows that at least some facts (if not all) are independent of humanity's knowledge or view of them. Reality is not subject to ...
... Our view of it. Simply because I'd rather have a 10" schlong does not make it so. Even if I suffered from a peculiar delusion which caused me to see a 10" penis every time I looked downwards, the genuine objective reality in which my penile size is somewhere between 6-7" would be unaffected. Yet it would be better for me to have beliefs (my subjective inner-representation of objective reality) which best match those of objective reality (the objective set of immutable truths which do not ...
... depend on my belief of them) because then I can opt for actions which would best guide my life. For instance, if my penile delusion led me to become a male stripper then my life would be negatively impacted because regardless of my particular belief about my dick size, I still wouldn't be packing the package mandated by the job. Okay enough with the cock analogy. Religion works the same way, it just has less penis (mostly). We shouldn't choose beliefs because we prefer them, but because ...
