have you guys ever noticed that every band with a girl bassist rocks? :talking heads, sonic youth, smashing pumpkins, the pixies, a perfect circle. anyhow i have been a fan of the talking heads since i can remember. much respect and love. :D

Belew ALWAYS has compression on (MXR Dynacomp, I think). There has to be some kind of fuzztone one too. He used all kinds but I think in the 70's it was a Big Muff. He doesn't play power chords or Santana-esqe lead lines. But fuzz and compression are needed for his feedback mojo.
