Charles a terrific musician and the nicest man. I think I first heard him live in the 1980's (here in L.A). One time, when he played a very intimate club (the Vine St. Bar & Grill in Hollywood) I was annoyed that Bonnie Raitt wouldn't stay in her seat at the bar and was somewhat distracting as she stood in a doorway to be closer to the piano. I forgave her the next year when at the then-named Universal Amphitheater, I was delighted when her opening act turned out to be Charles Brown! LOL

Oh please, blue is everywhere! It is the basis of many other styles of music, including Rock. They have strictly blues stations on the radio, you just have to look for them. I do agree with you though that they should play more.

I love this guy. He plays the first few bars of Drifting Blues and I get goose bumps. It is really worthwhile to obtain his early recordings.
