i met him,back in the 90's-we were drinking pals,very nice man,sardonic humour,mind you i was'nt taking my medication at the time and i also met mozart,shakespeare,goethe,jesu s-all leading,like myself,rather mundane lives in th north of england.lush film,really good

Actor that played Beethoven really moved me. He really set the tone for this documentary in my opinion. Any one knows this actors name.

His name is Paul Rhys as you probably know by now. ;-)

No one knows how close his performance is to how Beethoven actually was; but regardless, I agree it's a very compelling/convincing/gripping portrayal. =)

kundera uses the story of when goethe met Napoleon in Immortality.Napoleon looks up and sees goethe in the distance and says''there's a man''.brilliant book,very deep.
