Ancient Slavery in Modern India

India has more slaves than any other country in the world. Millions of people are trapped as bonded labourers. Poverty forces them to borrow money from rich landlords. They become the landlord's lsaves until they can pay off the debt. But this is almost imposssible to do. Landlords use threats, coercion and violence to keep bonded labourers trapped in slavery for generations.

FYI, the video is typical leftist propaganda. There is poverty no doubt, but you cannot enforce slavery. Private Lending money is legally prohibited, escape is far too easy and cheap..i.e. no slavery

i am a biig landlord of punjab but i dont have any slaves .we give them salery ,i have never heard of slavery in punjab.if u talked about the migrants from UP and bihar,than they have come on thier own we have not asked them.

My grandfather used to tell me stories before the british usurped our lands. Noone went hungry. It is only the brits we have so much poverty in the world. America & India should ask the queen to step down. It is about time. Also return the kohinoor back to India where it rightly belongs. Karma will play an important role.. as my spiritual advisor tells me that England will be under the ocean in times to come.
