No, that's the textbook definition, I'd say 1982 because someone born in 1982 would be a legal adult before the September 11th attacks, you're saying 1980 because it was the first year of the 80's which makes little sense. Kids born in 1982 were raised in a Gen X setting with less of the overprotective parenting that made Gen Y retarded.

And it really has more to do with environment, gender, race, and upbringing than it does with years.
