Fascinating, and remarkably pleasant. Bach dabbled in this sort of harmonization (some of the recitatives in the cantatas, notably), so as a confirmed Baroque addict I find this not at all strange, despite my ignorance of relatively recent music.

Well done. I've played the violin version many times. Tallahassee Suite too. Excellent music.

Thank you - I've never accompanied the violin version, but hope to do so some day!

As a Grainger fan - I discovered Scott many years ago. Wonderful music. I have just finished his book on Apple Cider - what an amazing man. good to see more CD's coming out of his major works. I love the Grainger performance of Lotus Land (a sadly neglected work). Thank you for this post!

He's one of UK 'crown's jewels' in my opinion. In this particular piece he managed to create a 'cresc.' of feelings, without actualy exaggerating in the dynamics signs themselves - just by density of harmonics.

Thanks for your comment. Scott in indeed a 'crown jewel', and fortunately quite a lot of his music is being recorded by Chandos and other companies.
