1) Understanding how flowers pollinate could help farming in immense ways. Understanding how certain insects operate could help control pests. Read the website and the peer-reviewed journal to learn more.

2) There is also "pure research" which specifically has no point. It's led to such inventions as transistors or the internet.

its that when scientists get bored they will study anything check out the ignobel prizes, theyre awards for the world most innane science, some of the experiments make this study look positivley essential
