At 10:34 How does this guy know that our ancestors didn't have the sort of creativity that we moderns believe we have based on nothing but a tiny number of fragments and a lot of gratuitous guess-work? This guy has no idea what our ancestors felt or thought or experienced or believed or hoped or feared.

Your latter hypothesis is correct. There was the Islamic golden age, but that has long since passed and now they feel inferior to us westerners in terms of technology and scientific development.
