This version of "Drop that Sack" was recorded at The Harp Hotel, Albrighton, Shropshire, England on Sunday, March 2nd. 2008 by the New Washboard Syncopators.
With Chris Carmel on cornet, Bob Smith on clarinet, Bob Pearce on bass, George Linder on banjo and Tony Quinn on percussion the band should have been called the New Washboard Quintet as trombone player Dave Braidley was conspicuous by his absence during the first set.......apparently he went to the wrong venue and had a very long round trip northwards up the M6 and back again! The five who did come to the right venue did a splendid job of this number which was one of the few recorded by Lil Hardin's Hot Shots. Once again an excellent gig at the Harp where sessions are held every Sunday lunchtime and Tuesday evening. Details from John or Marie Howell on 01902 756158 See us at www.jazzclub90.supanet.com
