The Mayans used zero as a place holder, but didn't have a concept of using it as we do in our base 10 system. That came from India (during the time that Europe was lost in the Dark Ages)

If more high school lessons were taught in sing-song form I'd be overjoyed to attend.

heh

try multiplying by zero and you collapse the number line

try dividing by zero and all hell breaks loose.

Truly zero is a marvel and a powerful tool.
