HP is crank-horsepower, NOT wheel-horsepower. When you see horsepower ratings in magazines and brochures, that is crank-horsepower, which is the same as brake-horsepower.

Bigplayer what are you talking about? When the term "HP" is used in publications and what not, it means crank horsepower, which is the same as brake-horsepower, or "BHP". And there is such a thing as "WHP" or Wheel-horsepower. Wheel-horsepower is how much power is made at the wheels(dyno). Wheel horsepower is always lower because of parasitic drivetrain loss between the crankshaft and wheel hubs, and different drivetrain configurations (rwd, awd,etc)have different amounts of power loss.
