The hunt for the UKs greenest school is underway.
Former Blue Peter presenter Gethin Jones is to judge the first ever EDF Energy Awards which will celebrate teachers, pupils and schools who have made significant change to their energy and water use, and have inspired others to follow their example.
Gethin will be joined by Beijing 2008 heroes Louis Smith and Liz Johnson on the panel in their quest to try to find the greenest schools in the UK.
All inspirational ambassadors in their own right, Liz won gold in the 100m breaststroke at the Beijing 2008 Paralympic Games, while Louis became the first British gymnast to bring home an individual medal from the Olympic Games in 100 years. Both are hotly tipped to be stars at London 2012.
In this video, Gethin talks about the awards, and also describes the Better off By Bike lesson one of the many ways students and teachers can embrace green activity in their school.
