I think it just sounds like the way that sentance should be percieved, whiny - not really important what it said, just the way it was said.

And come on... after all these years they should be allowed to do it a bit differently, if just to amuse themselves.

I agree, if he decides to play a song that he doesn't like, play it right dammit. Don't butcher it, it sounds like shit.

If you look at the rest of the footage from that gig, you can tell Thom's quite enjoying himself. He's always liked playing small and intimate shows.
