The funniest game I've ever seen. It was a total revolution. 17x 0 would be a fair score.

Cruyff decided not to participate in Argentina 78 because of the miltary regimes appalling record on human rights..some 30,000 people disappeared...you have to applaud him for this as he rightfully put football second at this time...man of the people.

This game I saw when I was 9, is still today one of the purest demonstrations of superiority and skillful playing I ever saw; this team was the one who made many of us fall in love with the game, would have well deserved better, and four years after, only a sick regime and foul rules deprived them of a well deserved World Champions title..what they did to push Argentina to win was incredible, but this team, in a few years, taught the whole world the game of football, and will never be forgotten.

Their biggest chance was 1974 and they blew it. But hey who cares, everyone remembers them as the best and the germans can fade into the background.

But in 78 nobody stopped them from winning that world cup. You have to blame Cruyff for giving the world just one world cup. But nobody put any illegal obstacles infront of them.

I love the dutch but if you watch the 78 final you will see a pretty rough match from both sides, it was war and neither team backed down. And at the end of normal time Holland hits the post. No regimes or foul rules deprived them from winning in 1978, if they score in the last minute they win the World Cup. Sometimes things just arent meant to be. If Cruyff had played that World Cup they would have won it.

Well, yeah, I'm also of the same opinion about Cruyff, who left the orange team when he was not even 30...the Rensenbrink pole, yeah, big chance...but if you remember the Argentina-Peru game...well...it smells from far far away...and with Brazil in the final game, who knows...

If Holland can beat Argentina in 1974 by 4-0, I dont know what is so strange about Argentina beating Peru 6-0. Who is Peru anyway? they havent made a World Cup in 28 years. People talk about Peru like they were a world power.

The had lost 3-0 to Brazil, they were on their way home, with the whole stadium against them, nothing to play for. Once you concede a few goals and you are playing for nothing teams can run over you.

Plus putting Brazil out was an extra incentive.
