my father cal ford was a good friend of mickeys and used to take me to his home in cardiff in the early 80's where i'd listen to them both having a jamming session. those were good days although i never picked a guitar up. maybe i should have. i would have had two of the best teachers in wales.. rip mick

I had no idea Mickey passed away. What a lost for the music world !!! I saw him for the 1st time in 1986 and I became really impressed. R.I.P. Mickey

Mickey is a fantastic picker. Was on Dave's stuff, Shaky's stuff and did some on his own i believe. Wasn't this called Pick Axe Rag??

Yes, though Albert Lee recorded with Shaky as well. Nothing to choose between them as far as virtuosity is concerned. RIP Mickey.
