Please Mr Mayor, do the right thing. My mum is from Ioannina and I hope to come home one day and find a place I can be proud of. Animals and people are all part of one big family and we have the power to make this world a better place.

I can promise you that I will NEVER set foot in Greece until this widespread animal abuse is finally cleared up. Not a penny of my money will go towards their tourist revenue.

I've encountered people that feed and pet our own cat and yet discuss about how some potentially dangerous strays should be poisoned, but -alas- with a poison that's quick and painless!Their absurdity is inconceivable.

They look upon them as pests and yet this is the result of the ignorance and indifference of Greek people, who don't spay/neuter and buy pets without realizing the responsibilities entailed.

It is unbelievable. I was in Ioannina a year ago. Mr.Mayor you have the churches full of people every Sunday and all the time when you have a celebration. Who is doing this? Do you have criminals in Ioannina or mentally challenged people? You better take a good look at your surroundings and keep this beautiful town free of these awful events; I have noticed that was not the first one.But corruption in this country is so high, that you may get away with murder easily.

Where's the leadership, Mayor?!?! I visited Greece when I was a teenager and saw a large amount of stray dogs. It hurts that your country looks upon them as "pests", and you do nothing to stop it!! So what are you gonna do, Mayor, stand there and shrug your shoulders?! Why don't you try a little thing called YOUR JOB!!!!!!! Demand that people spay and neuter their animals! Get animals microchiped! Do something other than ignoring the situation and your people's outcries!!!
